Replacing the Imaging Unit

Warranty Information

• Defective Maintenance Items replaced under warranty or service agreement will be shipped to the customer at No Charge. • If the Maintenance Items is displaying a Low or Replace message or is near the end of rated life. Please see Supplies Ordering Information for details on how to buy, supplies, pricing, and part numbers.

1. Remove the new imaging unit from its packaging.
2. Open the Front Door (11 KB).
3. Push up on the bottom of the Handle Latch to release it. Then pull the Handle Latch up (25 KB).
4. Grasp the Release Handle (25 K) in the middle and pull it down.
5. Remove the Imaging unit by grasping the light orange front of the imaging unit (19 K) and pull it straight out.
6. Dispose of the Imaging unit as normal office waste or recycle the imaging unit.
7. Insert the new Imaging unit along with its black plastic protective shield in the direction of the arrow on the top of the shield and with the bottom of the shield resting on the Release Handle (19 K). Make sure the Imaging unit is in all the way.
8. Remove the tape from the top of the Imaging unit shield (27 K) by pulling it off.

   Caution: Removing the tape will expose the print drum to light which left exposed for more then a few minutes can lower the life of the imaging unit or cause print quality degradation.

9. While holding the imaging unit shield push the Imaging unit into the printer using the light orange triangle shaped tab (27 K). Remove the shield from the printer.
10. Grasp the Release Handle in the middle and pull up.
11. Push the Handle Latch down until it locks.
12. Close the Front Door.
13. Dispose of the protective shield and tape as normal office waste or store them for future use.
